Frontonia marina; a marine species characterised by a postoral suture that reaches to the posterior end of the cell.
 
Frontonia marina; in contrast to Frontonia leucas ths species has a contractile vacuole without collecting canals.

Frontonia marina; slightly compressed specimen; focus plane on the macronucleus (Ma). The arrows point to some structures that may be the micronuclei. The diet consists of cyanobacteria and diatoms.
